Tampere Biennale will have composer Minna Leinonen as its new artistic director.
The programme of the Tampere Biennale has been published. The festival is held in even-numbered years and focuses on Finnish contemporary music. This year’s theme is Mindscapes. The programme features the human voice in its many manifestations: there are serious statements and tragic tales but also playfulness and joie de vivre.
This spring’s edition of the Tampere Biennale had to be cancelled because of the coronavirus pandemic, but the replacement radio festival, Tampere Biennale 2.0, began on Yle Radio 1 last week and will continue at the Ung Nordisk Musik festival in August.
This spring’s contemporary art music festival Tampere Biennale has unfortunately been cancelled due to the Coronavirus pandemic. As a substituting programme, however, Tampere Biennale and Yle national public broadcasting company will organize a radio festival, titled Tampere Biennale 2.0.
