Tampere Biennale celebrates 40th anniversary

15.4.2026
Tampere Biennale, a festival of modern art music, is held this year on 15–19 April. Concerts are held in music and culture venues across the city and even on Pyynikki ridge in the ‘Magic Path’ performances.
The audience sits at tables in a dimly lit hall, watching the musicians performing on stage, with text projected onto a large screen behind them.

About the festival

Marvels of new music for new audiences! Tampere Biennale has served as a forum for new Finnish concert music since 1986. Alongside world premières, the concerts also highlight works that are performed less frequently.

The venues of Tampere Biennale include concert halls and cultural spaces across the city. Every other April, the festival brings together composers from Finland and those living in Finland, as well as performers of new music.
